The integrated Arctic Ocean Observing System (iAOOS) is a coordination programme designed to achieve optimal coordination of funded projects during the International Polar Year. Its main concern is with Arctic change, including all aspects of the role of the Northern Seas in Climate, and it draws its primary focus on the present state and future fate of the Arctic Ocean perennial sea-ice.

The report is interesting for the international community, policy makers, media and journalists and who ever is interested of the state of the research during the closing of the the International Polar Year.
