Images from the polar yacht Vagabond
Vagabond is a French polar yacht used as a base camp for DAMOCLES in Storfjord, East Spitsbergen. The next 2 years the crew will be testing most of the new technology for DAMOCLES, before sending these instruments to the Arctic Ocean.

Press release: New DAMOCLES web site launched
DAMOCLES (Developing Arctic Modelling and Observing Capabilities for Longterm Environmental Studies) is one of the largest EU projects ever, aiming at reducing the uncertainties in our understanding of climate change in the Arctic and its impacts.
