Core theme 1: Sea ice
Recently we have seen strong indications of major changes in the arctic sea ice. Most dramatic has been the thinning of the Arctic ice-pack from more than 3m on average to less than 2m over a large part of the central basin of the Arctic Ocean. (Feb 10, 2007)
